NDIS Information & Resources

What is the NDIS?

The NDIS is the National Disability Insurance Scheme that provides funding for Australians living with a disability to access necessary supports and services. If you have a disability, you can access valuable information through the NDIS about different types of government support available in W.A. They will also connect you with disability organisations and other related support or care services within your community.

As an NDIS participant, you will receive funding for the support you need. You will be able to choose your own service providers that will help you pursue your goals, whether you want to learn new skills, improve your independence or obtain special equipment. NDIS service providers can help you in all aspects of your life, often in conjunction with a Plan Manager or Support Co-ordinator, who help you get the most out of your funding and co-ordinate the services that are best for you.

Am I eligible for NDIS funding?

If you answer yes to all these questions, you may eligible for NDIS funding:

  • Are you aged between 7 and 65?
  • Do you live in Australia, and are you an Australian citizen, a Permanent Visa holder or Protected Special Category Visa holder?
  • Do you usually need support from a person or special equipment due to a permanent and significant disability?
  • Are you in need of supports now to reduce your future needs?
